A tweet turning Uber’s first hire into a billionaire

In January 2010, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick tweeted as follows-

His car-hailing company, most recently valued at $60 billion, was less than a year old at the time. A guy named Ryan Graves saw Kalanick’s tweet and responded as-

Back then, Graves was a normal guy whose work experience included a database administrator position at General Electric and a stint in business development at Foursquare that he acquired by working for them for free after the company initially turned him down.

Kalanick presumably followed up with Graves, who became Uber’s first hire. Graves was briefly Uber’s CEO before Kalanick replaced him in late 2010. Graves stayed on as Uber’s head of global operations, where he remains today.

All of this perhaps was only possible because of his reply to Travis’s tweet.

Carter Wilkerson, a man who absolutely loves nuggets asked the popular food chain Wendys the following thing-

When this was tweeted little did Wendys know about the power of the internet when Carter asked for this thing.

This tweet currently has over 3.2M Retweets. And guess who supported him?

The world’s largest tech giants who make the popular search engines and Operating Systems were in to support this nugget lover. Even the very famous e-Commerce giant responded to it.

So did the world’s largest professional social network.

Governor of Nevada also asked others to help him out.

Now this is not any ordinary challenge. He will get free flight if he gets 18M Retweets.
