When detective Vishal Bajaj receives a call from his old flame Aditi, he is seduced into a vortex of family lies and a murder. Vishal sets out to catch the murderer, while dealing with the resurgence of an irresistible desire for Aditi that he had buried years ago.

Vishal is witty, hard drinking, tough private detective who doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty as he races against time to catch a meticulous killer. Seduced by Murder weaves a web of noir and suspense that keeps the reader riveted and guessing till the end.

  • My View

‘Seduced by Murder’ is a mysterious, noir, entertaining story of an intelligent detective called Vishal Bajaj who is asked to solve a murder case which he handled and solved tactfully, impressively and humorously keeping alive reader’s interest.

An inviting title positioning itself on a glamorous cover brings an utter urge to hold it and discover the content it holds. The synopsis of the book is short and compact which precisely gives a tinge of reflection of the story and is good enough to get reader’s attention.

A facile murder case laid in the beginning which seemed simple to solve, but as the story goes ahead, it will let your mind run in different directions to reach to the culprit. Starting was a bit slow and it was pacing in a lazy mood. But after some 50 pages story geared up and inquisitively started to ooze, and I was all set to solve the mystery with the detective. Although, the ball changes its court several times, but the title of the book is fair enough to give a hint at several places. With the help of the title of the book which is to some extent working as a clue, and also with the help of jigsaw my mind gave me conclusion several times and suggested the name of the culprit, and every time it was being turned down as a new facet of the story was going to be unleashed which made me more hooked to the story.

The story is humorously written and intelligently crafted where it is limited to few characters and characterization is also handled in a well-manner. Initially, I felt like it couldn’t stand among those witty mysterious books I have read before, but it proved me wrong portraying such a skillfully written story.

Writing style is smooth and silky which was able to comfort me throughout the reading journey. Along with a dignified mystery tale, the story is also sprinkled with romance which creates it’s ambience in a fruitful way. Series of events are intelligently blended giving a compact flavor of mystery and fun. Climax is powerful and unexpected. Clues are cleverly thrown leaving one wandering all the time. Literally, one couldn’t limit his/her mind on guessing a single culprit. My mind loitered in different directions while reading the book and finally it ended directing in a direction where I forgot to keep an eye.

A well-knitted mystery tale which was able to cuddle me in its arms till the end. No doubt, story is successful to drag me till its last page. Albeit, it’s not the best mystery story I’ve read but nevertheless, I enjoyed spending time with it.
