EMOTIONS: Was it Love? By Piyush Naik & Sanika (Team WordBite)

I look at you, you look at me. Was it love?

You walked your way in my heart from the route full of rocks.

You made me ask this again, you made me think of it again and then again I asked was it love?

You smile. You wink. You make my heart sink.

I dance. I sing when I see you in my dreams.

You walk. We talk. In my head.

I dream of you everyday.

You read novels. I read you.

You make me feel love is you.

Everyone say this is love.

Everyone feel I’m in love with you.

Still I’m shy to tell you and keep asking myself.

Was it love when I saw you today?

MOVIE Time: Shaadi ke side effects

It’s again a Friday, and Fridays are for movies. This Friday saw a big release which was one of the most awaited movies of 2014. So I went to the movie along with my friends. The theater was nearly full. I could see many couples, Married ones also!

Story at a glance:

Shaadi Ke side/effects is the story of Sid and Trisha. The events happen in their life are narrated by Sid. How life changes when they become parents and life changes for both of them. How Sid tries to make his marriage perfect or ‘Fool-proof’. But mostly as name suggest it’s about the side effects of marriage.

To know the whole story go and watch the movie.

My View:

In the first few minutes only you know that you will have a good laughter. The first half is full of comedy. It has everything. Director Saket Chaudary has crafted it well, but he misses it in second half. The second half is not what it was supposed to be. It lacks on various things. But still it gives you a good time and doesn’t bore you.

The story is sweet and simple. The characters of Sid and Trisha and well crafted. Other supporting characters are also very good.

Coming to the acting department, I’m just amazed by Farhan Aktar. I don’t understand how this man can do direction, singing, and now acting so perfectly. He just surprises me. After Bhaag Milkha Bhaag he has again given a smashing performance in Shaadi Ke side/effects. His comic timing is just perfect.

Vidya Balan, she is just one of the best actresses of our time. She looks beautiful, and she is just mind-blowing as Trisha.

Vir Das has done a brilliant job in his character role, whenever he comes on-screen he makes you laugh. Ram Kapoor is outstanding in his role. Other supporting cast has done a great job.

The music is good but not superb, the songs are captured beautifully.

I would give it 3 starts out of 5. You should not miss this one, it’s not just for married couple, it’s for single’s too as it gives you a view of side effects of shaadi.

EMOTIONS: The Story of my ‘Des’ by Dheeraj Sharma (Team Word Bite)

My India

The Story of my ‘Des’
Where peace overcame wounds of violence; where festivals are made to maintain life’s balance; where sacred grooves are made at worship place; Such is the story of my ‘Des’.

Where fragrance of relations is louder than hatred; where flower of forgiveness is given as a reward of betrayed; where natives hold your hand when life is in a wrong phase; Such is the story of my ‘Des’.
Where colours of life are brightened by traditions; where the fragrance of mud grows into addiction; where the narrow gallis have their own grace; such is the story of my ’Des’.
Where the ancient arts have their own origin; where river, the mother wash away your sins; where people and culture are greeted with smiling faces; Such is the story of my ‘Des’.
Where there are more religions than months in a year; and more languages than weeks in a year; still same anthem is sung and same flag is saluted by the people from different race; such is the story of my ‘Des’.
I am a young INDIAN, who is from a city; who lives in a city; breathes in a city; still my COUNTRY, my MAA, calls me towards her, to tell her story in million ways; such is the relation between me and my Des.

EMOTIONS : Move ON by Rahul Marar (Team Word Bite)

Move ON

Move on….move on

Don’t stop just move on

Don’t worry about what you have lost

Destinations themselves will come to find you out

Dream again, wish again…move on.

Those who have left, let them go

Don’t look back, move on …

Whatever you have lost, leave them behind

Don’t think about it,move on….

Decorate your life with new dreams..

Do something you love,

Go, do with intensity

Just now the new morning of feelings has arrived

The soothing breeze of this heart says

live again……live again

It’s hard sometimes to move on

It’s even hard to say GOODBYE

The old memories will still be there.

The footprints you will leave behind

will make you think about your old memories.

But you must walk forward

so as to build new memories.

You must try again and succeed

so as to forget past failures.

someone will meet you on your way

and may change the course of your journey

And who knows that person will stay in your heart

in your journey, building the dreams you dreamed.

just now a new tune has spread on my lips..

the rendering of this heart says

live again…..live every moment.

MOVE ON……for a new dream…..

My View .
Before moving further with my views, I want to reveal that I have read this novel twice.

Moving on, I don’t usually read a novel based on a love story. If ever I want to read one, I always pick a Ruskin Bond because according to me he is the only author who can write love stories beautiful and filled with pure emotions. But I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Guardian Angels by Rohit Gore in the same way as I used to feel for Ruskin Bond’s books. The story has a depth and it continues throughout the book uncovering the pure layers of personality of the lead characters, slowly and steadily, in such a beautiful way that I fell in love with the characters. I must say that the ending is predictable for sure, but while flipping the pages you will indeed make a wish that it would not end the way you think and that much is the effect the book gives you. The maturity and commitment shown by the characters is worth applause. Some moments made me smile while some were filled with emotions. I always loved Rohit Sir’s work and I must say the way the characters converse with each other is brilliant and humorous. I liked the chapter where Adi and Radha communicate through e-mails. But the most important chapter I liked the most is the chapter named Radha’s Journey which is the core part of the story.

Actually I can write a complete novella describing this novel. So to be short and sweet ‘The Guardian Angels’ is a perfect novel with a wonderful and nostalgic story. If you haven’t read it yet, then get set go and grab it. My rating: 4 on 5 .

MOVIE Time: Highway

There were more than necessary reasons for me to watch Highway. The very first and the important reason was Imtiaz Ali. Yes, after watching his past work like Jab we met and Rockstar who would have wanted to miss his latest one. The second is A. R. Rahman’s soul touching music which is already a hit, and last but not the least is the cuteness which Alia Bhatt has which can be seen in trailers.

Story at a glance:

Veera (Alia Bhatt) is kidnapped before her wedding and is held for ransom by Mahabir (Randeep Hooda). He takes her to various cities, in the journey a strange relation is developed between them. In the journey she finds freedom which she always wanted and never experienced. She just wants the journey to continue…

To know the whole story watch the movie.

My View:

Considering the big names the movie has attached, one could just think of it as a masterpiece in the making. But sadly it is not the one. The cinematography is beautiful and whole North India is captured perfectly and beautifully. Actors have given great performances. Alia Bhatt is back after her first movie Student of the year, and her acting is mind blowing in Highway. She lives the life of Veera and makes you believe she is Veera. Randeep Hooda is the perfect choice for Mahabir, he pictures him perfectly. The music by A. R. Rahman is pleasant to hear and soul touching. But even after having all, Highway missed one thing, Story! Yes, the story of Highway is not up to the mark. The concepts which it has in it are good. The movie is slow and you have to keep patience. There are some moments which evoke laughter, but they are very few. The last fifteen minutes are the best where you feel something good. Imtiaz Ali has directed well and has captured the scenes beautifully, but he has surprisingly disappointed us with the story. Highway is clearly not a movie which I had expected after watching Jab we met and Rockstar.

I would give it 2.5 stars out of 5.

Watch the movie for the great performances, beautiful locations and soul touching music.

So here we come to an end of today’s session of Movie Time next time we will talk about a new movie.

THE READING ROOM : EX by Novoneel Chakraborty

By Novoneel Chakraborty
By Novoneel Chakraborty

Today we are starting a new page on our blog dedicated to the Literature, THE READING ROOM. And it gives us immense pleasure to say that the first discussion on a book we are having is a novel, EX by Novoneel Chakraborty

The story at a glance
The story of EX revolves around Neel, who quits his so called boring job to become an author. His love life with Titiksha is perfect and steady. On his visit to Jaipur Literature Festival he meets Nivrita who says that she is his Ex, he remembers nothing and yet everything about her seems to lure him to unravel the mystery she personifies. She is a commissioning editor of a leading publishing house and makes a tempting offer to him which he is not able to resist. So he along with Nivrita starts working on his dream debut novel with a story suggested by her. It was in this writing process that made Neel realize his guilt of betraying his love, Titiksha. It was in this writing process that made Neel in a confused position and finds that his life is now in an out of control situation. Titiksha, whom he knew for years, has now become a complete stranger. Nivrita, an unknown, mysterious and tempting lady seems to be influencing him. Everything that was a reality seems like yet another dream and everything that was a dream once seems like a reality.
Will Neel be able to find out the reality? Will he be able to salvage his love life? Will he be able to unravel the mysterious Nivrita?
To find out what this story has in store for you, get a copy and read it and I guarantee that you will never put this book down.

My View
Novoneel Chakraborty is a bestselling author. I didn’t appreciate his previous bestseller, ‘How about a sin tonight’ but this one was a nail biting experience and I bet, one cannot guess the end unless you are on a last page. The plot never did it expose anything while moving from past to present. The book actually doesn’t need a bookmark, such a gripping read it was. The reason is this book is one of those very few Indian Thrillers which can maintain a prefect tempo right from the very first page. The author is known for his perfect and vivid narrative style and picture perfect characterization. And this book is the best example of this which combines with different human emotions which are crafted perfectly. The only thing I felt was that just like the protagonist of this book, Neel, it was difficult for me to understand the philosophical dialogues in this book. But then in the end everything is perfectly understood.
So if you are a Novoneel Chakraborty fan, then read this, for you will become a die-hard fan of him.
For those, like me who didn’t like his previous works will surely become an admirer, if not a die-hard fan after reading this book. My rating: 4 on 5

The synopsis given on the back cover of the book:

To get to his heart, she seduced his mind. What will you do if one day a svelte and sexy girl comes up to you and says she is your ex? And the only thing you know about her is that you don’t know anything about her. Neel, an aspiring author, meets Nivrita at the Jaipur Literary Festival. Though Nivrita says she is his ex, he remembers nothing and yet everything about her seems to lure him to unravel the mystery she personifies. The more he is drawn to her, the more Neel feels guilty because he is already in a steady relationship with Titiksha, the love of his life. When Nivrita makes a tempting offer to Neel, which he accepts for his own good, his life slowly begins to spiral out of control while Titiksha starts turning into a stranger until Neel realizes there’s much more than his eyes can see and mind can recollect.

So here we come to an end to today’s session of Reading Room with a quote from this book
“If you are accustomed to see only black & white, then you’ll never see me”
